Most who plan to move to Costa Rica in the near future have found out meanwhile that the Costa Rica real estate market is more stable than most real estate markets in the world. Enjoy this month's newsletter, Ivo Henfling We moved to Costa Rica while I was pregnant The best thing to do when you are the mother of a 2 year old and you are 6 months pregnant is to move to Costa Rica! I know it sounds absurd but it was the best decision my husband and I have ever made. When I first told people I was moving I got one of two reactions. The first being " You can't. You're pregnant" (as if I had forgotten). And the other was " I wish I had the nerve to join you". Now my family, friends, and doctors were rightfully concerned. I had my first child when I was only 26 weeks pregnant. When he was born, he was a tiny 2lbs and 1oz. We spent the first few months of his life in one of the best NICU's in the United States. One of the major concerns was that in Costa Rica I couldn't receive modern day health care. Read more... Do I really need a home inspection in Costa Rica?
Ivo Henfling, our Escazu and Santa Ana specialist likes to have all buyers use a home inspector before purchasing a property. "I don't want my client call me in the middle of the night that his roof caved in or to bring a shovel to dig them out because the mountain behind the house came down." I want my buyer to be totally sure that his/her investment is sound and save before they close. Buying a property is not something a buyer does every day. It is our obligation as experienced real estate agents, to make absolutely sure our buyers understand that it is better to be safe than sorry. Properties in Costa Rica are sold "as is", but by having a good home inspection done, you will be either warned about the problems a property might have or it will show you why you should walk away and look for another property. Another great testimonial from a satisfied client Manuel, Emmanuelle and Jose, our affiliate members on the Caribbean are strongly recommended by Mike & Laura Mazzella: Just a quick note to thank you and your staff for the professionalism and kindness you have shown Laura and I during the purchase of our Casa in Cocles. Let me start by expressing how thorough and knowledgeable Jose Tercero was during the process. He has become a great and trusted friend and the greatest bonus of buying Casa de Chilamate is having Jose and his family as our neighbors. We would have never believed that being the purchasers of property in a foreign country, while we were absent except for all but the closing, would go so smooth. Even when faced with major questions during the process all our questions were answered in a timely manner and we were given ample time to make educated decisions that in the long run have proved to be advantageous to our personal goals of having an eco-friendly rental property in a beautiful place that we can escape to ourselves several times a year to shake the Colorado cold off. The great service has continued with our relationship with Emmanuelle and Mendez and there handling of the house in our absence. We appreciate all you have done and continue to do and look forward to seeing you in the very near future.
