Sunshine, sunshine baby...
Rains have almost stopped completely and sunshine is coming back. This year, we have had way too much rain but I'm sure that next year, we'll get even more rain. We feel sorry for all those who have had so much damage to their properties and lost their possessions and even lost their lives during the terrible rains.
December in Costa Rica always means the end of the rains and the beginning of the dry season. For the next couple of months, we'll have lots of wind and cooler temperatures, which is very nice to have since a Christmas without snow just feels different. Honestly, I'll do without snow anytime, even if that means that Christmas has less character.
The world crisis has not helped our business a lot, though I feel we are fortunate enough to live in a country that is "different" and there are enough people retiring to "paradise" to bring us business. In the name of the American Real estate network and all our affiliate partners, I'd like to thank you for your past and future business we wish you a merry Christmas and a prosperous 2011.

More shopping and fun available in Cariari
By Shell Johanson, Cariari Specialist
Running is a passion all over Costa Rica and Cariari is no exception, one sees them at their solitary endeavor, some with incredible exuberance while others barely shuffle forward awkwardly.
Despite the many runners one see strutting their stuff all day long, the walkers still seem to carry the day by a long shot, and, more often than not, the walkers do their thing accompanied by a friend or the family dog. Read more.
A few strange differences in Costa Rica
By Barry Ashworth, west side of San Jose specialist
Since so many people in Costa Rica say they are a real estate agent and many are not well trained, you might receive information about a property you might be viewing that is incorrect.
What you read on a website or are told by a real estate agent or owner may not be true. Due to the slow judicial system in Costa Rica and the way of life here, you better think twice about suing afterwards. Read more.

Several years ago I bought two parcels of land in Costa Rica. I had the good fortune of working with Peter Marte, who brokered the deal for the owners and myself.
I have worked with many realtors over the years in the U.S. and I have to say that I have never worked with an agent as professional, knowledgeable and available as Peter.
I am now developing my property and have relied on Peter many times already. He has provided me with much valuable information, advice and contacts of other reliable professionals. To sum it up Peter in my book is a consummate professional who incorporates honesty and integrity in dealing with his clients.
