Asperger's Syndrome

Kathy, Bill and family moved from Texas to Costa Rica in 2005 and rented a home in Ciudad Colon, Costa Rica through their realtor Ivo Henfling. In 2009 they moved to Santa Ana. Kathy and Bill quickly adjusted to life in Costa Rica where they made many friends. Bill spends most of his time on the Parque Valle del Sol golf course in Santa Ana while Kathy is mostly dedicated to her son who has Asperger's Syndrome.

Here is part of Kathy's story as an introduction to the E-book. At the bottom you'll find a sample recipe of a Tex-Mex Casserole. Kathy sells her E-book for only $ 17,50 and you can find it here: http://www.aspergerscookbook.com/index.html or email Kathy at aspergerscookbook@gmail.com

This book contains my personal experiences on how to significantly minimize or eliminate many symptoms of Asperger's Syndrome – a part of the autism spectrum which negatively affects social development in children.

This is an all-natural method using alternative medical care and diet instead of traditional medical approaches and expensive medications.  This website and the related book explain how and why you too, can succeed as well.  The information and recipes will make it easy for you to start right away!

Our personal experience was a result of the painstaking and expensive search for a cure for my son.  He had Asperger's Syndrome from an early age and was not correctly diagnosed until age eleven.  During the many years of uncertainty and frustration, expensive doctor's visits and examinations, prescription medications, and no improvement in his condition, I was forced to watch my son struggle with life and limited functioning.  In October 2008, we finally connected with a holistic acupuncturist who totally changed my son's medical condition, and as a result, our lives.

This healer examined my son and proceeded to treat him with acupuncture; he gave us instructions for changing his eating habits in order to get rid of the symptoms and improve his life.  He was very clear in telling us that without the required changes in his diet, the treatment given alone could not provide the dramatic life-changes we were hoping for.

I was completely at a loss as to how to make the required dietary changes.  My experience was limited to typical cookbook recipes for the traditional American diet, which is rich in dairy, meat, and many foods containing additives, chemicals, and preservatives.  I was desperate for ideas.  After endless searching, I was unable to find much guidance for creating simple, tasty meals my son could enjoy.  After much trial and error, I created many easy-to-prepare recipes that are both healthy and flavorful and fall within the guidelines provided by our doctor.

Amazingly, after just two acupuncture sessions and a complete change in our eating habits, my son experienced behavioral changes within the very first month!  He responded immediately when spoken to and his hyperactivity completely disappeared!  He told me, "Mom, I can think more clearly."  At that point, I was able to visualize the enormous possibilities and knew his true potential could be realized if we continued with his new diet and eating habits.

My son's Asperger's symptoms have been dramatically reduced.

This change was not only extremely beneficial for him – the dynamics of our entire family interaction was notably improved.  We were also relieved of the financial burden of doctor visits and costly prescription drugs.

My son's life-changing experience and our family's huge success must be shared with everyone who has a family member struggling with Asperger's Syndrome.

With no cure being offered by the traditional medical establishment, people directly and indirectly affected by this tremendously challenging disorder need to know about the positive life changes easily available through the combination of acupuncture treatments and changes in diet.

Tex-Mex Casserole

2 cups cooked brown rice cooked with one beef boullion cube
1 cup texturized soy protein, soaked
½ medium onion, chopped
½ bell pepper, chopped
1 jalapeño, seeded and chopped
1 clove minced garlic
¾ cup water
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp Bragg‟s liquid aminos
1 Tbsp chili powder
1 tsp chili pepper
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
¼ tsp cumin
1½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
2 Tbsp chopped cilantro
1 can of beans (15 oz.) of your choice
1 can tomato sauce (8 oz.)
1 can of corn (8 oz.), drained
shredded soy cheese for topping if desired
additional cilantro, if desired

Cook rice according to package directions with 1 boullion cube. With enough water to cover the TSP (texturized soy protein), set aside until water is absorbed, 5-10 minutes.

In a small pan, put in the ¾ cup of water, tomato sauce, olive oil, Bragg‟s liquid aminos and the spices. Mix well. Add bell pepper, jalapeño, onion, and garlic; cover and cook, simmering until tender, about 15 minutes. Mix all ingredients together and put them into a 2-quart baking dish. Cover and bake at 325°F (163°C) for 20 minutes. Top with extra cilantro or soy cheese, if desired.
