The Rainy Season in Los Santos, Costa Rica

It's October, we're in the middle of the rainy season in Costa Rica and it the rainiest part of the year here in Los Santos. And if it's anything like the rest of the year, it will be rainier then normal.  But since I'm an early riser (I'm usually up around 4:30 in the morning) and the rain doesn't usually start until the early afternoon,  I can get the garden weeded, the orchard trimmed, the grass cut and a few other items on my to-do list before it starts and enjoy the beautiful weather outside. 

The advantage of the weather in Costa Rica is that even though it rains, the temperature stays almost the same. The afternoons are great for baking a pie, experimenting with a new dinner dish, or just reading a book.  It also great to go down to the pulperia (small grocery store) and chat the afternoon away with whoever else is trying to get away from the rain. The mornings are beautiful though and if you feel like looking at property we have for sale in Los Santos, this is the best time of the year to make sure the property doesn't have any problems.

My wife uses the rainy season to do her spring-cleaning and any indoor painting projects that she has.  And when we get two tired of the rain we will take the hour drive down the mountain to the Terra Mall on the east side of San Jose and see a movie.  If you have never been to the VIP section of the Cinepolis Movie Theaters at Tierra Mall, it is sure with the extra price, and still cheaper then the USA.  They have great big chairs that recline way back and have waiters that come and take your order and bring you your popcorn and coke.

Sometimes we take a long weekend trip to the Caribbean, their weather pattern is a bit different and it can be quite dry there, plus I really enjoy a few days at the beaches around Cahuita or even further along into Panama at Bocas del Toro.

Last year we were in the USA away during part of the rainy season. It was fall in Georgia and the weather was quite nice, not to hot or cold, plus my wife really enjoys seeing the leaves change.

And come to think of it, the rainy season is almost over and I haven't got all the projects done I had planned for this one yet, maybe it will last a bit longer this year and I can get caught up.
