Why Costa Rica?

If you love nature - Costa Rica is a great place to be. If you like a simple life - it is here. If you want an uncomplicated and less stressful environment - you have arrived. If you really enjoy a great cup of coffee in the morning, afternoon or both - that coffee is available. If you like to visit the beach but enjoy mountains - here you have both within a short drive. Hiking, bird watching, horseback riding, white water rafting, zip lines or just sitting in the park and watching people pass- you can do it. Democracy, friendly people - affordable health care, no military and the list can go on and on.

All the above are reasons why many people have retired and re-located to Costa Rica and many in the future will look to retire in Costa Rica. Those who stay have a bit of adventure inside and have the ability to adapt -- we are in a different country and culture.

What have I described above?  Those of you who are here and others who are coming have made a choice - a decision to change the norm and seek an alternative LIFESTYLE. That LIFESTYLE is what so many people want - future contentment, peace and happiness.  It is here in Costa Rica and available to you but you have to grasp it. It will not be automatic nor should it be. You are very much a part of the process to make it happen.

I am a firm believer that every morning when we get up we have a choice to make. We can open the curtains and windows (watch out for the rain) and decide what kind of day we are going to have. You can decide- today is a great day and it is going to be a great day. ---or you can get up with a negative attitude and say it is not such a great day and it probably will not be. ATTITUDE- you control the good and the bad - and it is your choice. Think about it and decide - takes a little practice but it gets easier to be positive. If you retire in Costa Rica and you don't have that attitude, don't buy property in Costa Rica. If you're not sure if you do or not have the attitude, rent property in Costa Rica for a while. Look around you here in Costa Rica - enjoy the LIFESTYLE. I Call Costa Rica home because I think I have adapted and I'm happy here.

Why NOT Costa Rica?

Costa Rica is not for everyone - it is by no means a perfect place. If there is, however, a perfect place in the world - let me and everyone else know please. If you really need total organization in your life from perfect highways, street signs, fast moving bank lines, rapid response, and multi tasking people- you are out of luck and you should not plan to retire in Costa Rica but stay where you are. If you expect manicured lawns and subdivisions that are immaculate- do not open those windows in the morning.

But - if you want that LIFESTYLE that is simple - uncomplicated- (except on the highways) you have arrived. Problems - yes - everywhere there are problems. The problems here I will take over a lot of other places. Relax and enjoy - life is short - and remember --YOU--- make the decision for your day.
