Andrew’s background

Andrew grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut and graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy, Wesleyan University and New York University School of Law. After working briefly as a lawyer in Manhattan, he worked in finance in New York and Miami. Andrew have extensive real estate investment experience in Costa Rica and in the United States. He is a licensed Realtor in Nevada and in addition a Certified Resort and Second Home Specialist and Senior Real Estate Specialist. Andrew Rhee speaks English, Spanish and French.

Andrew was featured in an Animal Planet production, “Switching Gears”, which was a series of short interviews with people who chose to leave behind the “civilized” world to opt for a lifestyle more deeply steeped in nature.

Andrew and his wife Lisa lived in Mal Pais from 2004-2013. They  continue to own a hotel and ranch, Star Mountain Jungle Lodge, and horse tour company in Mal Pais. Their 8 year-old daughter and 5 year-old son were born in Costa Rica. They adored living between the jungle and the beach. A reformed surfer, he now enjoys swimming, hiking and the occasional round of golf.
