Retire in Costa Rica and pick up digital photography as a hobby
First, of course, you will sleep late and get rid of all those hours you missed out on while planning to make the big step of retiring in Costa Rica.
Then, you will help your better half to unpack and get the house organized. You might even think about all those books that you brought with you. Sit at the pool? Watch the views? Get a beer at the local bar?
Before all those books look the same or the beers are becoming a serious problem, see what Peter does with his time.
Our client Peter Boyer, a retired air force/airline pilot has retired in Atenas, Costa Rica in 2012 and picked up on a great hobby that I would like to share with you and see if it warms you up for a future hobby. The Boyers bought their retirement home in Desmonte, a beautiful subdivision just outside Atenas, Costa Rica.
Nature and Birdlife
Peter has been an avid photographer for many years and started using professional Nikon DSLR camera equipment since 2000. He loves all photo subjects with a particular affinity for nature and bird life.
Peter has been fortunate to travel most of the world in his career as an aviator, this has presented him with unusual and special opportunities to photograph various scenes and wildlife in many places.
Retirement in Costa Rica
Peter spent the last number of years in the Middle East and India flying contract while living in a number of countries with his bride Edie. Edie and Peter chose to retire in Costa Rica because of the beauty of the country, the laid-back lifestyle and the wonderful weather year round.
Today, I want to share a few of Peter’s photography as a hobby with you, many of them taken in the backyard of their retirement home in Atenas or in their subdivision. Click on each photo to see a much larger version. If you are not ready to retire yet and you would love to have one of his photos on your living room wall as a reminder that paradise is waiting for you, I recommend ordering one of his prints that you can purchase on Peter’s website.
Peter shows an incredible series of digital photography as a hobby:
- All kinds of birds,
- Abundant scenery
- and others.
You can purchase all that in different forms from Peter:
- Canvas print,
- Framed print,
- Art print,
- Acrylic print,
- Metal print
- and greeting card.
Digital photography as a hobby is a great idea when you retire in Costa Rica. If you’re not much into electronic equipment, you can take long morning walks and enjoy these views at your own pace. Many areas in Costa Rica offer views and nature just like you find in Peter’s digital photography.
